  Naga Tribal Body Cloth/Throw
Burmese Tribal Throw

Alternative Views:

The Naga are an ancient tribal people found in the hills of Northeast India and parts of Burma. They have a rich tradition of textile weaving and are renowned for their flamboyant adornments for the body. The weaving is done by women on a back-strap loom. After the cloth has been woven, small patches of embroidery are sometimes added using a porcupine needle. These are from the Sema tribe and when worn are an indication of tribal status. Knotted tassels finish this piece and can be used as a sofa or bed throw or a wall hanging.
