This festive red and white striped fabric is accented with little rectangles of colors and woven by Petrona Gomez, one of 300 Mayan women weavers from the mountains of Chiapas, Mexico who make up the Jolom Mayaetik Cooperative. This group of pillows crafted using this hand woven fabric draws from traditional Mayan techniques and designs. On a recent trip to Turkey I found these colorful beaded tassels that are added to each pillow.
