Burmese Lacquer Bowl No. 13

The Burmese are known for their handmade lacquer pieces. These bowls of coiled bamboo have a flared rim typical of the mid twentieth century wares of Ava, where they were made. The original paper stamp still remains on the bowl. The interior is lacquered red and the exterior is painted with a decorative beige inscription. It is vintage and in excellent condition.
