Burmese Lacquer Box No. 2

This box has designs incised on the sides and top. Lacquer was a popular gift to foreign envoys from members of the Burmese court and were used to store royal jewels, letters, and sacred Buddhist manuscripts. As with all antiques there signs of loving wear and tear.
