Embroidered Burmese Tribal Throw - Tan

Burmese Tribal Throw woven by the hill Chin people. Here there is a rich tradition of textile weaving and they are renowned for their flamboyant adornments for the body. The weaving is done by women on a back-strap loom. After the cloth has been woven, small patches of embroidery are sometimes added using a porcupine needle. The patterns and motifs reflect Chin culture and its environment Knotted tassels finish this piece and can be used as a sofa or bed throw or a wall hanging.
