Vintage Mayan Belt/Faja No. 8

This charming vintage Guatemalan Mayan hand woven belt/faja proves that useful does not have to be plain. Faja's are used to hold up the corte (skirt) in the mayan traje or outfit. These are long and masterfully embroidered with colorful geomorphic designs running on one or both sides at the ends. Woven in rich burgundy/red material then masterfully embroidered and fringed at each end with hand made and hand knotted tassel fringe with colorful pom poms. These fantastic belts look spectacular hung over a chest, they are long and stunning.
