Shaman Ceremonial Mask No. 22

This rare hand painted paper mask was used in shaman rituals of the Yao people of Vietnam and worn by a Tao Priest during rituals. The mask, representing a God in the Taoist pantheon, is actually tied to the forehead of the priest during the ceremony. Each one is finely painted and in very good condition, having only wear from years of devotional use.
